Trip to Japan

I just came back from a trip to Japan/Tokyo and Lake Kawaguchi, at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The views there was spectacular, with the leaves changing colours, its really beautiful! Shall post some pictures which my family has taken here....Click on the image for a larger and clearer view.

For mapler like me, these trees looked exceptionally nice, cos they are maple trees. haha...

I hand-made these crystal angels handphone strap using genuine Swarovski Crystals with Aurore Boreale coating. Can be used as handphone strap, handbag accessory or hang in the CAR! It is very pretty and sparkling under the light. Ideal as a birthday, mother's day, teacher's day, farewell, welcome gifts and gifts for all occasions.

I am selling at S$12.00 per piece. A Beautiful Gift Box (as shown in picture with Pink and Purple box below, box also comes in pastel blue and maroon (dark red) updated as of 21st May 2008) and handphone strap will be provided FREE. Box may vary from time to time depending on the stock.

Tekka Mall

On 6th March, Thursay, I finally found time to make my way to Tekka Mall. Tekka Mall is undergoing renovations. I went round looking for the shops. I finally gave up and asked the information counter, and was told they are located on the 5th floor.

Took the lift up, and I was hoping to see many many gifts/partyware shop. To my disaapointment, I only found one, the rest are artificial flower shops. So what the 'aunty' at the concourse told me was true.

Checked out the stuff inside, but couldn't find what I want... left within half and hour. Looks like I will not be able to find a place like the old 'Blanco Court' or 'Concourse' where all the gift and flower shops congregate, the atmosphere there, especially during christmas and new year season. I don't think the shops at Tekka Mall or Middle Road can bring up the kind of atmosphere we used to experience in those times. This is the result of modernisation.

Competition

Yesterday, before fetching son #2 from school, I took a bus to Concourse to look for some gift wrapping materials. I knew that the shops are shifting out of Concourse, but wasn't sure when. When I reached the place, 95% of the tenants have shifted out. It was quite like a ghost town now in Concourse.

There were 2 gifts/party ware shops and 1 flower shop still opened on the 2nd floor, so I went up to see what's left. I went into the first shop (shop#1), the shop keeper was packing their goods and told me that they are shifting to Tekka Mall. I said I thought I saw many signs outside showing that they are shifting to Middle Road. This old uncle from shop#1 told me NO! Only 1 store has moved there, the rest of them are now at Tekka Mall. I didn't pay too much attention to that and continued browsing.

I could not find the items I wanted, so I decided to go into the next shop (shop#2) which is still open. When I walked in, the auntie in shop#2 told me that they are moving to Middle Road. I was surprised once again, and I said, I thought most shops are moving to Tekka Mall ? She replied NO! only 1 gift/partyware store (pointing to shop#1) is moving to the TEKKA MALL, the rest which moved to Tekka Mall are flower stores. Most gift/partyware shops are now at Middle Road.

Wow, competition are so stiff that these old uncle and auntie are trying to 'eliminate' each other ! I have no idea who to believe! But I will, soon, because I still have not got the items that I set out to get ...

About Blogging

I always wonder, what is there to blog about ? Everyday mundane things happening around us ? Why do some people have so much to talk about, even to the extend of what they eat... is it just to fill up the page ?

Anyway, yesterday morning, in maple, a guild member chatted with me and he started asking me why was I playing in the morning and my age. This time, I decided to tell him some truth (which sometimes I don't). Of course I did not reveal my age. This was when he started telling me that his parents were separated. If I remembered correctly, he said he is 17+ and his father careless about him. I shall not divulge too much details about him, but he was very positive despite of his situation. He told me that he still has an uncle who loves them and is taking care of them (him and his brother). He said that he will repay his uncle someday. It was touching. He also told me about his girl friend and how teenagers at certain age will behave, as I told him I have teenage sons. Funny thing is that, he even left me his handphone number, just in case I need to consult him !!

In this virtual world, I am not sure who I chatted with is really what he made out to be. Its ok, I choose to believe him. Nothing to lose. I have came across several maplers, also in this predicament. Its quite sad !!

I am sure my sons knew how fortunate they are!! CHEERS!

My First Post

This is my very first post in my very first blog. Will be a big surprise to my family. Hahaha. Wait till they find out. Whatever it is, I have to remember that whatever I say in the blog, whole world will know sooner or later, even many years later... so will have to be very careful !?

I love the color scheme of this template. So soothing. Yet not too pastel. I shall keep my blog look simple.

Anyway, my first main purpose of this blog is to post pictures of the little crystal angels handphone straps that I have just learnt how to make. They are so pretty that I can't resist showing them off. Hahaha..but first, I must learn how to post pictures in the blogs....

Secondly, I also hope that this will encourage my 2 boys to continue with their own blogs. Boys, don't seem to like to blog as much as girls and love keeping to themselves about how they feel. Maybe not all.
